It isn't a package. It's a case-by-case combination

Mommy makeover is the term used to describe the combination of breast and body contouring surgical procedures performed after pregnancy and breastfeeding.

After pregnancy and breastfeeding, three problems often appear together and need to be addressed separately in the plan: loss of breast volume and sagging, excess abdominal skin, and separation of the rectus abdominis muscles, diastasis. Each requires a different correction.

The combination exists because treating everything in a single plan avoids two recoveries and a second period off. But it is only recommended when total surgical time stays within a safe anesthesia range, with exams in order and adequate clinical condition.

When the estimated time is high, when there is a comorbidity, or when a routine with young children can't accommodate a more intense recovery, the recommendation shifts to splitting into two shorter, more predictable surgical sessions.

It is not about going back to the body you had before. It is about a body that keeps up with your life today, and when and how to do that is your decision, made with a clinical exam in hand.

Tummy tuck/mini tummy tuck + liposuction/liposculpture or laparoscopic diastasis repair + removal of a skin ellipse

These surgeries aim to treat abdominal diastasis resulting from pregnancy or weight gain, using an open surgical technique (tummy tuck/mini tummy tuck) or a closed one (laparoscopy), in addition to treating sagging through skin resection. With liposculpture, we remove localized fat and use it as a graft in specific body areas, aiming to add volume and deliver a more harmonious body contour.

How long after giving birth can I have surgery?

The criterion isn't the birth date, but stabilization: completed breastfeeding, a stabilized breast, and a stable weight for a few months. In practice, this usually happens from six months after breastfeeding ends, with individual variation.

Can everything be done in a single surgery?

In many cases yes, as long as total surgical time stays within a safe range and exams show no abnormalities. When that is not the case, the recommendation shifts to two shorter surgical sessions.

Will I be able to take care of my children afterward?

Not without help in the first two weeks. Lifting weight and carrying children become off-limits, and this is the most underestimated practical limitation. Household support needs to be arranged before the date.

What is diastasis and why does it matter?

It is the separation of the rectus abdominis muscles, common after pregnancy. It is not resolved by exercise when the separation is structural; the correction is surgical, by plication or by video.

Can I get pregnant after a mommy makeover?

It is possible, but a new pregnancy tends to undo the abdominal wall correction and change the breast again. If pregnancy is planned, it is usually best to postpone.

Do I need to lose weight first?

The criterion is a stable weight, not an ideal weight. Operating during a weight-loss process means the result will change afterward, with new excess skin.

Does liposuction replace a tummy tuck?

No. Liposuction treats localized fat; a tummy tuck treats excess skin and diastasis. When the problem is skin and the wall, lipo alone does not solve it, and can even worsen sagging.

How much time off work should I plan for?

For jobs without physical effort, two to three weeks is usually enough. Activities requiring effort need more time and clearance at an in-person follow-up.
